: : Most of the oldtimers here on tt.net will remember my car. My goal was to run low 11's on a stock bottom end but that didn't happen. It turned out that my motor got weaker and weaker, I could never get close to that goal. Anyways, the biggest problem with the Z is traction. With drag radials I couldn't get anything better than 1.9sec short times without destroying one of the best clutches on the market for the Z at that time. And still today, there isn't a clutch for the Z that'll allow 7k rpm slip launches all day long, like the supra has.

: : Ok on my supra, I have a stock toyota clutch that withstands 5k lauches. I have over 100runs on this stock clutch at BPU. So far my best time is 11.8@121mph. The advantage is the short time. Also, the other OEM components that I have that the Z doesn't (larger injectors).

: : A properly tuned BPU should run 11's with drag radials. I've only invested $1000cdn in mine. Most Z's at stage V have 3 times invested and still barely muster 12's.

: : I wont argue beyond that. MOney is the figure that makes your car fast. Beyond stage X, or APU anything goes. The costs including the cars are relatively close.
